Out of the Attic – A Golem for Every Home

img_5512 OUT  OF  THE  ATTIC     I have often written in this Blog about the importance of Jewish Heirlooms. Some are passed down from generation to generation. Others we ourselves collect “along the way,” and pass them on to our children and grandchildren (and their descendants).     I want to introduce you to a new potential heirloom, which can also be a lot of fun. From my last Blog: “Jerusalem Tiles www.etsy.com/shop/Jerusalemtile has just presented their new line of miniature figurines called The GOLEM Collection. Talk about an opportunity to start your own Jewish Heirloom Collection! Twenty years from now, you will proudly display your “vertical” collection and tell your grandchildren how you got started way back in 2016.” This idea found its way into modern Jewish “folklore” in the famous GOLEM of Prague, which was said to be kept in the attic. NOT ANY MORE! So now comes the fun part. Time to take the GOLEM out of the Attic!     So often we put old things away, not realizing how precious are their memories. Then, in later years, we discover so much nostalgia in re-opening that old box from the attic. Did you ever wonder how they got into the attic in the first place? Somebody started a collection. Now here is your chance.     This is more of what I recently Blogged:     “The miniature Golem Collection has created an adorable, elf-like clay creature. Its legendary, fabled, anthropomorphic, hand-crafted design, is waiting for you, to be your beloved fantasy, and enchanting guardian. Aside from being a hot, iconic and magical minion-like one-of-a-kind figurine, this individually sculpted, mystical and mythical protector, will become your memorable good luck talisman, revered for its storied, and poetic charm. It will grace your garden, kitchen counter, or desk top. What a uniquely enthralling gift to give to a friend and loved one. Every Golem is fired twice, glazed and hand-decorated, to last a lifetime, indoors or out. Inside the Golem, the artist has created a “secret” place into which you can insert a small piece of paper for: a prayer, a wish, a note to God, whatever you decide to write.     As the artist states, “Each one of my figures is hand crafted, one of a kind. You don’t want to miss out on this special miniature. Legend says it will watch over you, your family, your garden and your house!”     And for other items from the Jewish Heirlooms site, see www.etsy.com/shop/Jerusalemtile .” Stand up for what is right even if you're standing alone!
